Well, hello, hello, and welcome to another episode of the Red Couch Theology podcast. This week, we are diving into the sermon on the Mount proper, and we're talking about the Beatitudes. Yeah, I brought the message this week, and I shared some direction of interpretation that might be different from how you had grown up. And that's ok. There are different ways of approaching text, but we will wrestle through some of those things. What do the beatitudes actually mean for us, or is this a checklist of things we're supposed to strive for, or what is it anyway? We'll dive right in without any further ado to the sermon on the Mount, the beatitudes.

Well, hello, hello, and welcome to another episode of the Red Couch Theology podcast. Hey, we're only days away from our live in-person recording of this show in 6510, Sept. 11th, 6:30pm. Hey, if you're listening to this after that time, we're sorry you're unable to make it. We're gonna send the invitation here anyway. This week on the episode, we have a guest, Rob Karch, who brought our sermon on Sunday. He's one of our ministry partners. He's worked in the French-speaking world for most of his life, and we get to hear some fascinating stories about how God has worked in and through his church, sometimes the messiest parts of his church, to extend his love around society. We hear some history about the French-speaking world and all sorts of stuff, and we wrestle with some of those tensions that are in Christian history. So, without any further ado, let's dive in; let's hear from Rob Karch about some of those things.

Well, hello, and welcome to another episode of the Red Couch Theology podcast. Hey, we're excited because we will do this thing live on the internet and in person with some of you in the room in just a couple of weeks. September 11th, check that out. There are details in this episode about that. This week on our episode, we actually did a deep dive into a whole bunch of things going on in our community. We announced on Sunday that we're going to stay at one service. We're gonna talk about why we did that. We're gonna talk about the counterintuitive reality that we want to be an invitational church, and yet this whole one-service thing almost seems counterintuitive to that. We also ask an incredible question about our dreams and hopes as church leadership: how much of our attention goes to outreach versus how much of our attention goes to discipleship internally for our current church members. Anyway, we're gonna talk about all this. So, without any further ado, let's dive right in.

Well, hello, hello, hello, and welcome to another episode of the Red Couch Theology podcast. Hey, if you're a fan of our show, that would be; it would be super helpful if you give us a rating on your favorite podcast service; it really does help the algorithm thing. And all of that jazz get the word out this week. In our episode, we're gonna be talking about transformation. What is it about being an evangelical Christian that sometimes makes us feel like God's a little bit disappointed with us and treats us like a project or a person that needs to be fixed. We're gonna talk about that. We're gonna talk about the fact that God doesn't feel that way about us, but we also feel that a great question from you all about identity and how identity has a relationship with transformation and can discovering our God-given identity be most one of the most transformative things that happen to us. So, I feel like I'm already giving away too much. So, let's just dive into our episode. Thanks.

Hello, and welcome to another episode of the Red Couch Theology podcast. This week on our episode, we talked about the kick-off of our Yes... if series. Specifically, we talked about hospitality. How does hospitality manifest itself in the local church, church? What are some specific things that we can do to have the hospitality of Jesus? We talked about all those sorts of things. We also got into some arguments about British English versus American English, and I think I won. You'll have to wait to find out and vote which one of us won this argument. But without any further ado, let's dive right into this week's episode.

Well, hello, hello, and welcome to another episode of the Red Couch Theology Podcast. This week on our episode, we're gonna talk about kind of a crazy experiment that we did in our service this last week. We actually opened up for sharing for the majority of the sermon time from our congregation. And we're gonna ask the question, why don't we do this all the time? Is this how the church is supposed to be? And are we gonna be just opening, sharing time constantly? So we're gonna rest with that. We're also excited to invite you to our live recording of the show in person, which you can attend later next month. So, without any further ado, let's dive into this week's episode.

Well, hello. Hello, and welcome to another episode of the Red Couch Theology podcast. This week, I have a special guest with us. Kevin Butcher is joining me. He preached a sermon several weeks ago in our community, but he is a longtime pastor with 30 years and pastor ministry experience huge heart for God and an amazing leader. He's personally ministered to my soul. And we'll talk about Romans chapter eight because that's what Alex preached on Sunday. But it also happens to be the passage that he preached on several weeks ago. And in this episode, we'll center around the questions about God's love. Actually, as good as the scriptures make it sound and what prevents us from sinning. If God loves us unconditionally, why would we stop sinning? And these kinds of questions will be dealt with in this episode, and I'm going on and on in this intro. So I will stop now, and you'll have to listen to the rest of the episode. Let's tune in.

Well, hello, hello, and welcome to another episode of the Red Couch Theology podcast. It's been a while since both Alex and I were on the show, and we are on the show together again today. Unfortunately, for you, that means we had an argument about pickleball for the 1st 10 minutes. But we also talk about the earth and caring for the earth. And what does that mean for humanity and God as our father? And how does God care for both us and the planet and all these sorts of things? And we talked about missions a little bit. So it's a little bit of a meandering conversation, but miraculously by God's kindness, he seemed to draw it together at the end of the episode. So without any further ado, let's dive into pickleball missions, creation, and God's heart for the world.
