A Helpful Guide to Prayer

Thursday Jan 23, 2025

Thursday Jan 23, 2025

Hello, and welcome to another episode of the Red Couch Theology podcast. Hey, this week we have a guest on the show, Peter Pearson, who's brought the message on Sunday about prayer. One of the reasons we asked him to do this is because he's been trying to grow as a prayer for many, many years, and the Lord has answered that prayer for him, and he's figured out some things that have helped him along that journey of becoming a person of prayer. And he shares some of that. So today's episodes a lot about the practicality of how we learn to become people of prayer, but then we also are gonna talk a little bit about the shame and the guilt that we often feel related to prayerlessness. How do we navigate that? We'll discuss that in this week's episode, so let's dive right in.

Hello, and welcome to another episode of the Red Couch Theology podcast. Hey, this week we're talking about serving in God's kingdom, which means we're gonna try and guilt you and shame you into doing more and more for the church. Or are we? Ironically, Alex's message led us down a more invitational way of thinking about serving on Sunday. And how our life with God actually fuels and motivates our service. So, let's dive in to hear a little bit more about that.

Hello and welcome to another episode of the Red Couch Theology podcast.
We did not forget about you! Contrary to popular belief—based on the fact that we haven’t published an episode in the last several weeks—we’re back and excited to dive into the season of Advent.
Today, we’re talking about Alex’s sermon, which presented the entire biblical story in one message. If you’re curious why he approached it that way, we’re going to discuss it.
We’ll also explore one of the questions you submitted a few weeks ago about the tension between rest, serving, giving, and balancing those aspects of life.
Let’s dive in!

Hello, and welcome to another episode of the Red Couch Theology podcast. Hey, this week, neither Alex nor I preached the sermon. But somehow, we still managed to talk for quite a while. And actually, I think brought us some interesting discoveries about the nature of worship, the nature of repentance, the nature of fellowship and all of that. So, let's dive right in.
