Hello, hello, and welcome to another Red Couch Theology podcast episode. Hey, we have Dan Elliott on the show this week because he preached this last week's sermon. And he and I had such a blast. We actually just walked verse by verse through this little letter to the church in Smyrna in the Book of Revelation. And he gave me such amazing insight into this text. We talk about the city of Satan. We talk about what's up with these 10 days. We talk about all sorts of curiosities here. And I think I had a delightful time. Let's take a listen.

Hello, and welcome to another episode of the Red Couch Theology Podcast. Hey, this week I invited a guest on our show because Alex is traveling and I didn't even give her any time to prep. I invited her this morning to join us on the show, and you'll just have to see how well she does. I'm not even gonna tell you who it is. You'll get that in just a moment here. But we talk about,, the letter to the church in Ephesus and I think we had a great conversation. You're gonna have to judge for yourself. Send in your questions at redcouchtheology.com.

Well, hello, and welcome to another episode of the Red Couch Theology podcast. Hey, this week we are diving in the deep end on our revelation series and hey, I'm proud of Alex. And I, because I feel like we actually covered a lot of ground in this episode. We dove right into the text itself. We talk about principles of interpretation. We talk about the weirdness of this particular genre, and then we dove into what we think this book is actually supposed to be pointing at for us. And so, without any further ado, that's all I'm gonna get you.

Hello. Hello and welcome to another episode of the Red Couch Theology Podcast. This week we're talking about community. Again, we're actually concluding the community series. We have a guest on the show who actually brought the message to Sean Switzer. He's our student director and he shared with us about the sacrifices that are required in order to enter into community. But then he makes a case that it's not even a sacrifice at all. You're gonna have to tune in and listen to how he comes to that conclusion.

Hello, and welcome to another episode of the Red Couch Theology Podcast. This week we're continuing in our community series and we talk a little bit about prophecy because Alex talked about the book of Ezekiel. And we talk a little bit about how to interpret prophecy. Why is it complicated and that sort of thing? But then we also talk about the beauty of this passage that invites us into becoming rivers of life. And what does that look like for South? Let's tune in.

Hello, and welcome to another episode of the Red Couch Theology podcast. Hey, this week, we're talking about some of the nerdy things that Alex discovered in this passage of Exodus; well, it started in Exodus. It jumps to Genesis, and then it jumps even further back into the beginning. Genesis. It's all over the place, but it's so fascinating. And Alex shares a little bit about his lament from Sunday where he wished that he'd had some time to get to some more of the heartbeat behind the passage. I think he actually did a pretty good job, but you'll have to find out.

Hello, and welcome to another episode of the Red Couch Theology Podcast. Hey, this week, we get to talk a little bit about one of my favorite subjects: the nature of scripture. And how do we know what hills to die on and all that sort of thing? And then is there something that should, should separate us in our unity in the church or are there things that we should just let go and all of that kind of complexity? That's what we're talking about this week on the show. And it fascinated me. I hope it fascinates you. Let's tune in.

Hello, and welcome to another episode of the Red Couch Theology Podcast. Hey, this week we have a guest on our show because Kevin Butcher brought the message last Sunday, and let me tell you, Alex, myself, and Kevin were in the room. We were the three preachers for the series, and we sort of just went through almost the whole series and talked about the heart of the father and why we struggle with that, the love of God, and all these things. And,, I think it was pretty good. I'm a little biased. Why don't you listen and tell yourself what you think? It's helpful.

Hello, and welcome to another episode of the Red Couch Theology Podcast. Hey, I invited a guest to host the show this week on the podcast, and I'm super excited. I won't even tell you who it is now because you'll get to meet him in just a moment. But he did a great job because he let me talk a lot. So, you're gonna have to listen to this. We're talking about the prodigal son story about the elder brother. And I think that if you've been following Jesus for a lot of years, you probably have some elder brother issues. It seems to be a tendency of anyone who's been at this Christian thing for a while. So we'll figure out how we recover from some of that struggle as elder brothers. We're diving right in.

Hello, and welcome to another episode of the Red Couch Theology podcast. Hey, this week, we're starting a conversation about our newest series of the Prodigal Son story. And if you've heard this story much of your life, or if you've been around this story for much of your life, I'd encourage you to tune in because even Alex and I are discovering new things about this story and finding ways that it, it's messing with our heads. We get to talk a lot about that today. Personally, I think this may be an unashamed endorsement of this episode. I think it was excellent. At least I had fun. So, you're gonna have to listen to find out why.
